Simon blinks once or twice as he feels an intense pang at the base of his stomach, like a knot that's been kicked by an invisible limb. He experiences a rush of relief and joy all at once, which comes at him the way a wave would, swallowing him whole. And yet, that happy little tide of emotions isn't enough to sweep away something else, a familiar and ugly monstrosity that his been looming over Simon's head and heart since he was small-]

[It's a voice that only he can hear, not human, although sometimes it sound like a wicked distortion of someone familiar. The Cat. Grace. Rarely, maybe even his mother, or what he thinks she sounded like. At this point it's been so long he can barely remember.

It whispers quietly, as if to say-]

[That this time, just like all the others, he's going to screw it all up.

In ratboy's defense, the other teen really doesn't seem to give a damn, and truth be told, he's never seen the human form in all it's native splendor, not a day in his life. Hell, Simon hasn't even given himself a good once-over in the mirror, ever. ]

The brief mention of violence both excites and terrifies him. Other than the zombies at the beach, who had happened to creep up on him while he was having a particularly difficult crying fit, he hasn't felt the joy of victory from a good fight in ages. As messed up as Simon is, even he knows that this is highly abnormal, so he just keeps it to himself.]

So they're the same on the inside even though on the outside they're all big and monster-y?

Mm, yeah, for the most part. The entrails I've seen looks similar. There's differences, but minor ones. Their exterior is usually what is the biggest difference.

[The question is asked while Simon's eyes are closed. Akira will be able to hear the sounds of the blond shuffling the towel over his head.]

Well.
Yeah. I did. But it’s not something I could have ever done without Amon’s fusion to my body. He gave me a confidence I didn’t have.. and a delight for blood that sometimes I can’t help.

Besides.

They weren’t people anymore, Simon. They were demons that had succeeded in completely possessing a person and turning them into monsters that had become cold and ruthless.

_{[ Akira scrunches his nose, uncomfortable. ]}

Ugh. Why am I defending them? Mankind as a whole isn’t worth saving anymore. People can be even more terrible than demons and that is what I first hand witnessed. I sacrificed my body for nothing in the end.
