[ wow, so mad! even trucy didn't seem to expect that kind of answer; her eyelids flutter at his first little outburst, and she seems to shut up for a short second. "use"? maybe he really was just some sort of burglar, and it's up to trucy to take care of him until she gets a chance to call the cops?
or, at least, calling the cops would be the sensible thing to do. judging by how young (and unfashionable) this person is, trucy doesn't feel like they're necessary just yet. she might just try to diffuse the situation like she always does, whether or not it's the best decision.
she sets her fists on her hips, pouting. ]
Hey! Is that any way to talk to a Lady? Especially when you're borrowing stuff from her own bathroom. And what's an Apex anyway?
[Simon parts his lips to begin reciting a monologue he knows by heart. He's given this spiel countless times before to many an impressionable young passenger, so why is he having trouble with it now?
He can't see his number and there's another supposedly human person here and she is saying this is her home, implying that they're no longer on the train at all. If someone else were here by his side, whether it be Grace, a member of the Apex, or even Samantha, he'd start spewing curses about how this was somehow the work of the False Conductor, however...]
The Apex is...
[He does his best to physically push the words out, breath by breath, until he notices that he can feel and hear his heart pounding. A once-glowing green palm presses against the bathroom wall and Simon slumps downwards, doing his best to regain composure.]
[ trucy gets to bear witness to this sudden defusing of this person's spirit. even his initial outburst doesn't concern her as much as his last did; at least he seems to be motivated to explain himself in some way.
not that it lasts very long. he repeats that word she doesn't recognize, the apex, and suddenly he's slumped against the wall, trying to catch his breath as if he'd been running for miles. some of the goods he'd stolen even go clattering to the floor, bouncing and rolling elsewhere along the linoleum. good thing trucy's the only one here for now.
he's not lying. trucy knows that her own "sense" isn't as sharp as apollo's, and maybe this person could be an incredible actor, but nothing about him betrays any sense of facetiousness. trucy's suddenly concerned, and she takes a single step forward, her gloved hands reaching out but keeping a safe distance from this smelly, panicking, lonesome-looking person. ]
Trucy's kindness goes unacknowledged, though her behavior at the very least registers her as less of a threat. Simon refuses to look at her, the shame he's experiencing masked by the anger on his face. No matter how high his number gets and no matter how many nulls he has defeated, he will always be this person.
He will always be afraid.]
I'm fine!
[All the while, he continues to blow huffs and puffs of air. His gaze hones in specifically on one of the bathroom tiles, a trick he hasn't had to use in a long time, but it works for now.]

The exit.
Where is it?
